My name is HANNAH. I am Hilary’s best friend. It was awful how I got here. My mother had died when I was born and at first these people took me inside their house and fed me from a bottle. But they soon got fed up with that so one cold morning they just dumped me in a field. I was devastated. I couldn’t feed myself, it was so cold and there was no one about to help me. I panicked. I stood by this stream and cried and cried. Then Janet came to find me. She told me later that someone had phoned her and told her I was in one of her fields crying. It was such a relief to see her walking towards me and have her pick me up. I was three weeks old then. Janet took me to the house and fed me from a bottle and I warmed up, cheered up and thought “This is going to be all right.” There were other animals and another lamb in the same room as me. They all looked happy and safe so I knew I was going to be too. I felt so at home that I got into bed with Poppy the dog who washed me and then I fell fast asleep. By that evening all my energy had returned and Hilary, the other lamb, and I had something called a nappy put around our bottoms. I was a bit concerned about this but Hilary assured me it happened very night and that we could still lark about in them. We had a fantastic time in Janet’s bedroom that night. Hilary showed me this trick with a card board box turned on its side. You ran into it headfirst and then you could shove it around the room. When it stopped against the wall, you got out and butted it until it turned round and you could set off again. When we got bored with this we spent the rest of the night tap dancing around the floor and trampolining on and off Janet’s bed. She didn’t seem to appreciate our enthusiasm. So the next night we were banished to the kitchen with dogs. We have matured slightly since then and now live outside. We have loads of friends amongst the bigger sheep and we go to visit the donkey, the guinea pigs and Bluebell the big pig. Hilary and I have decided that we want to become life long friends. One year on and I’ve grown into a fat, friendly sheep. I am ecstatically happy here and Hilary’s firm friend. Please sponsor me.
