Saffy the sheep

Hello my name is Saffy.

My name is SAFFY and I am now 6 years old.  My mother, who came to the Sanctuary from Devon, gave birth to me and my sister in the barn here. First of all my sister was born and three hours later Janet found me under a hay rack.  I’ve forgotten how I got there.  Apparently I was newly born but all I can remember is being frozen stiff with cold, literally.  I was still wet.  Janet took me into the house and rubbed me dry.  She wrapped me in a blanket and put me next to this odd smelling rubbery thing that was hot.  I learned later it was called a hot water bottle.  She took me upstairs and put me into bed under the duvet and next to the electric blanket.  It was all gloriously warm.  Janet sat with me and I eventually came to life.  She later told me it took about six hours for me to really warm up.  I remember being taken back to my mother out in the barn.  I wasn’t overly keen on that as I had just got used to all that luxurious heat. Well, my mother made her feelings towards me quite clear.   She tossed me up in the air.  Maybe she felt that one lamb was enough and didn’t want a second.  So, much to my liking, I was returned to the house, snuggled in blankets, hot water bottles and dogs.  I was fed from a bottle and slept in Janet’s bedroom until I was ten weeks old.    I played up and down the stairs in the house and everyone said I was a real sweetie, whatever one of those is, it seemed very popular at the time.  My best friends now are, apart from Janet, Lilly, Tilly, Eric and Milly.  I was very fortunate that my mother was rescued from Devon, even if she didn’t want me, and very fortunate to have been born at the Sanctuary.  I want to stay here to be with my friends and I want my mother to stay too – I don’t bear her any grudges.   Please sponsor me.
