Dumpling the Shetland pony.

Hello my name is Dumpling.

My name is DUMPLING.  I guess you can see why.  Well, I do like my share of the mints and carrots.  I’ve always been a well rounded girl, hence my name.  I came from Dartmoor.  I was known as a lead mare and for some time managed to evade the yearly round up.  But one year I slipped up and got caught and ended up in this awfully noisy place, a market.  We had a long journey in a lorry to get there and it frightened me so goodness knows what the others went through.  I am a pretty tough girl, had to be to be a lead mare.  Janet bought me at the market as she thought I was in foal.  I was so fat. But, as I say, I wasn’t named by accident.  I’d always made sure I got my share of whatever food was available. I’d not been handled by people at all up until the time I was caught.  I can tell you I was not impressed by them.  I am still a very independent lady although I’m not stupid.  I know when I need assistance and will stand to have my feet done. Janet is pretty impressive, I’ll grant her that.  I’ve been here at the Sanctuary for 8 years now and I must be about 19 years old.  My great friends are Lilly and Ginger.  We would not like to be separated from each other.  I certainly wouldn’t like to be separated from the carrots and mints!  It’s an easy life here compared to Dartmoor. I want to stay.  Please sponsor me.
