Hello, my name is MR BEAN and I am 8 years old.
I am a Shetland pony. I have been here at the Sanctuary for 3 years.
The horse dealer, who Janet had bought my best friend Timmy from,
showed me to her and told her that he wanted a lot of money for me.
I was 5 years old and a stallion. Janet pondered the situation
and the dealer then told her that he would sell me for much less
than the original price as he had lost his grazing and there was
no where for me to go. Janet found out that the reason he had lost
the grazing was because he had left a dead pony in the field and
people had complained. Well, I just kept my hooves crossed whilst
all this negotiating was going on. I really didn’t want to go back
with the dealer as he had knocked me about a bit. Thankfully I came
here, to the Sanctuary and it has certainly lived up to its name
for me. I am less nervous, but still wary of people I don’t know,
and I’ve been castrated. That was unpleasant but I understand necessary
and it has stopped me from wanting to wander off in search of the
ladies. I know for a fact that there are at least two the same size
as me here. I live with Timmy, he is my very good friend and he
gives me a lot of confidence. Janet says that I am a good, kind
pony. All I can say to that is I am just returning the treatment
that I have experienced since I came to the Sanctuary. I want to
stay with Timmy and I don’t want us to loose our grazing. Please
