Hello, my name is Arnie and I am 14 years old.
I have been here at the Sanctuary for 28 months and I just love it! I have a condition called a low ring bone in my foot – I know all this because Janet explained it to me – and I will always be lame but Janet treats it with something so I’m not in any pain and I’ve even been ridden again which I enjoy. Anyway to go back to how I came here, my owner decided that because of this here “Credit Crunch” – the sheep think it’s a new type of biscuit but I know almost at the cost of my life that it’s to do with money – he had to sell me. So I was put in my box and taken to this awfully noisy place where men hit the horses and shouted a lot and where there were some horses in a terrible condition, emaciated and depressed. It made me sad to see them and I began to wonder if that was going to be my fate was well. A man tried to buy me I didn’t like the look in his eyes but then this woman appeared, who I now know was Janet, and she offered my owner more money than the horrible man. So my owner wanting to beat the Credit Crunch if he could took the better offer. Well, he certainly did himself and me a big favour. The horrible man has since been prosecuted for cruelty to horses. I think Janet knew him and that is why she stepped in and saved my life. I have two friends here Charlie and Mattie. Our field has a public footpath in it which is great fun when you walk right behind the humans using it they don’t like that. As you can see I just love rolling, I feel so much better, happier and secure. I know I was a bit naughty at first and Janet got exasperated with me but I’ve settled down now and I think that Janet is just the most wonderful person in the world. I want to stay here with Janet, Mattie and Charlie, I don’t want to go to that market again and I certainly don’t want to run the risk of being bought by a horrible man. Please sponsor me.
