Hello, my name is Carol and I am about eight months old.
I’ve only recently arrived at the Sanctuary but what a wonderful place. I feel secure for the first time in my short life. I was born at the end of spring and almost died, my mother abandoned me and I lay in the field weak and starving. The crows thought I was dead and they attacked one of my eyes. It was so painful and frightening but I couldn’t stop them. I didn’t expect to live.
Fortunately the farmer was a good man and, once he found me he took me home and fed me from a bottle. But my injured eye became infected so badly that I almost died.
The farmer did treat it and eventually I recovered and so, thankfully, did my remaining eye other wise I would have been blind. Anyway my next ordeal was being donated by the farmer as a prize at a village fete. Again who or whatever is watching over me stepped in and I was won by a compassionate young lady who, on hearing that she would get me back in a box in pieces, was horrified declaring that she wanted me alive.
So, I went back to the farmer, who kindly agreed to look after me until a place could be found where I could live for the rest of my life. And here it is, the Farm Animal Sanctuary, and here I am after being so close to death three times -thank you compassionate young lady, thank you Janet and thank you to whoever is watching over me for bringing me here - I want to stay. Please sponsor me.
