Hello, my name is Sasha.

I am about five years old. From being very small I wasn’t allowed to run around on long walks and have fun like other dogs because I was used for something called breeding. To me that meant being pregnant almost constantly, painfully giving birth to litter after litter of puppies, feeding them all, only to have them all taken away and sold for something called money. I think my owner must have made a lot of this money from me and my puppies. Then I developed this thing in my eye which meant I couldn’t see properly and it hurt. By this time I was middle-aged or so my owner said and, after all that money I’d made her, she decided to get rid of me, just like that. No thanks nothing. Well, unbeknown to me at the time she did me one huge favour because I came to the Sanctuary to become one of the house dogs here. They are all great, so easy to boss about even the three big ones! When you’ve not had any freedom and suddenly it’s all there, fields to run in, walks to go on, beds to sleep in, food and treats, time to play, no more pregnancies, no more puppies and get my eye treated properly what can a girl do but be exuberant! And I’ve discovered that I’m not middle aged after all but relatively young. Well, bring it all on is what I say! Just fantastic! Thank you Janet!
