Agnes makes a slow but steady recovery

agens the sheep

One of fifty eight sheep rescued seven years back from a farm in Devon, Agnes is an elderly girl. Six weeks ago she went into a coma and neither we nor the vet thought she would recover. However, happily she has proved us all wrong and, having been fed on liquids for two weeks, she is now eating and can stand unaided. The vet thinks that Agnes may have had a form of meningitis.

The Porridge Boys

Norman the sheep

Daniel, at sixteen years old, and Norman at thirteen, both have a distinct lack of teeth which is no surprise after all those years of ruminating. They thoroughly enjoy a bowl of porridge with fresh cut grass and Golden Syrup, they won’t eat it without the syrup and I don’t blame them.

A Sad Goodbye

Jane the turkey

Jane the turkey came to the Sanctuary four years ago with her sibling Jean. Jane was always the quieter and more reserved of the two but did enjoy meeting visitors. She made many friends amongst the other turkeys, rabbits and the orphaned lambs who arrived every spring. We miss her quiet but dignified presence and we feel that Jean misses her too. Thank you, Jane, for coming into all lives.
