My love of animals was obvious from a very young age, I used to sit and play with millipedes and snails as a toddler and beg my mum to let me keep them! Living abroad we were surrounded by stray animals, I would do all that I could to help them, take water and food whenever I could. My hope was to become a vet but unfortunately for one reason or another, it didn’t happen.
I have been involved with animal rescue voluntary for around 10 years, fostering and fund raising while working part time. When the opportunity to work at the farm became available, I jumped at the chance, I knew I would love it but it really has changed so much for me, it’s my dream job and I could happily spend every minute of every day here!!! Animals are the best therapy, and knowing that you’re helping to give them the best life is so rewarding. There’s never a dull moment, every day is different and there is always someone making you smile, from the naughty lambs to the hungry pigs, I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else.
